Fallout from a Prayer for Truth and Transparency

You know those bickering selves inside yourself? Those opposing characters quarreling to direct your life? How about the unacceptable ones that get stuffed into the basement unconscious?

Several years ago, my own interior selves presented themselves to me as a chorus line. In my Chorus Line, the “girls” wear blue satin outfits. Light blue trim, 1950’s style (nothing high cut), and yes, when performing, a tall blue feather. In rehearsals, no feathers.

My Chorus Line comes in all shapes and sizes and conditions. Every so often, some lost soul shows up and we work to integrate her into the Chorus Line. The girl in the wheelchair gets fit in alongside the squat, the lithe, the young, and the old.

This past month, the Archangels’ recommended topic for group prayer was “Truth and Transparency” (July 2024 — https://jodieshelm.medium.com/ or www.asktheangels222.com). They suggested we start by praying for ourselves — that truth and transparency would be revealed within ourselves. I prayed that all the different parts of myself would know truth and become transparent — to themselves and to each other. (If you want my whole prayer, it’s at the end of this article.)
